Meet Callum Hargrove - DC3

👟 What would a shoe look like if it were designed to be recycled from the very first sketch?

🧑‍🎓 That is the question at the heart of the research of Callum Hargrove, DC3 in the SCARPA project. ♻️

Callum studied design engineering at Imperial College London and has a background in sustainable textile design. He previously worked with Dalbello Ski Boots on more circular ski boot liners. Now he just moved to Italy, where he is based at the University of Bologna and works on sustainable footwear design for recycling.

His goal is to develop a product architecture that can be presented to industry as a vision for the future of sustainable footwear design.

In his own words: “I like to eventually produce something that I’m very proud of and that, as a program, we can use and create a wider impact across industry.”
