The SCARPA journey has officially taken off!
🤝 On 15 and 16 October, the SCARPA MSCA project consortium came together at the Novotel in Ghent for two days of introductions, training and networking. It was a great pleasure to meet the doctoral candidates, supervisors and partner organisations in person, to align on the research and training programme, and to plan the next steps together.
♻️ SCARPA (Sustainable and Circular Footwear Training Program) is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network on circular footwear, coordinated by Prof. Steven De Meester at Ghent University. Our 15 doctoral candidates will be trained as the next generation of experts in circular footwear design across the whole value chain, from the consumer and product design to recycling technologies and life cycle assessment.
👏 A warm thank you to all our partners for the energy and ideas they brought to Ghent: Ghent University, Maastricht University, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), POLYKEY, Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, Re-Sport Srl, DTU - Technical University of Denmark, Designskolen Kolding and Montanuniversität Leoben.
🎬🧑‍🎓And this is just the start. In the coming weeks, we will introduce our doctoral candidates one by one. Follow SCARPA MSCA project on LinkedIn to meet them!
