Optimizing recycling and cleaning processes for real footwear waste

After completing her Master's degree in Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) in Algeria, Sabrina MILOUDI pursued a second Master's degree in Polymer Systems Engineering at the University of Lille, France. Her academic and research experience has focused on polymer materials, sustainable polymers, and polymer binders for coatings.
As a Doctoral Candidate within the SCARPA project, she is hosted by PolyKey in San Sebastian, Spain, where her research focuses on the chemical recycling of end-of-life footwear. Her work aims to develop a controlled, low-energy depolymerization process for the polyester components present in footwear under mild conditions, with the long-term objective of scaling up the process towards industrial application.
Her broader interests include sustainable polymer materials, chemical recycling, and the development of more circular approaches to polymer waste management.
